Actually, there are more reasons than one why he should buy the Dell and there are also some short drawbacks that can be ignored. First of all, the Dell has the most powerful CPU: Core i3 370M. Secondly, it has got HD Glossy WLED (or whatever you call it).
Thirdly, it has the maximum HDD of the four: 320GB. Now consider the other way round. The Dell has got 14" while the first Acer here has 15.6" display. Moreover, it has a 0.3MP camera and no consumer level OS installed. These three disadvantages can be ignored though, I repeat. And remember one thing: Dell's audio is a lot better than Acer. Acer just cannot deliver good audio. HP laptops usually have Altec Lancing which is really good but this HP you mentioned does not have Altec Lancing. So, judging from all corners, the Dell will be best buy in this list.

One the other hand, if I were you, I would have added this to the list above: Compaq CQ41. It has a similar price point but best of all, it has a 14.1" LED BrightView HD display (just 0.1" more than the Dell), a core i5 430M CPU and Altec Lancing speakers. The reviews are also great too. You might check it, but I do not have any intention to make any confusion in your mind by bringing in new ideas here. Anyways, it is all your wish.
