You can use a converter to convert a molex connector to a 6pin connector. That's how I used mine for almost 1.5 years, no problems ever.

    No don't think it'll run on a 400W PSU. Mine was on a 500W TR2.

    Thats why i dn need 4890.i think 2 6pin means 2way power.4870 normal edition needs 2 6pin but 4870toxic needs only 1 6pin and bettr than normal 4870.so will go for 5770 or 4870toxic.

    ---------- Post added at 00:27 ---------- Previous post was at 00:25 ----------

Any1 who wants to sell 5770 or 4870toxic plz post.

well, i did run a HD4890 OC edition ~ 8 months!! & didn't face any prob at all!! & 4890 consume less power then 4870!!

so, i guess u can take the risk. it's up to you now. but if you can, get TT TR2420W. it's more then enough for a 4890.

another thing, 4870 also has 2 6-pin connector.

Red Devil big bro,Tx for saying that 4890 consumes less then 4870.I will then give it a try.Bro u hav said that 4870 has 2 six pin.Bro just look at this websites of sapphire-
    http://www.sapphiretech.com/presenta...000101&pid=203
    and
    http://www.sapphiretech.com/presenta...000101&pid=266
It says 4870 toxic edition requires only 1 six pin but 4870 normal edition requires 2 six pin.
I have said bro big bro 2 six pin means 2 way power. So i think 4870 toxic edition has extra cooling capacity.Thats why needs 1 six pin rather than 2 six pin compared to 4870 normal edition.

    i shld make something clear......4870 requires 2 6pin connectors....and 4890 reqires 2 6pin..and i have seen some which require 1 6pin and 8pin also...

The 4870 toxic is a OCed version of 4870...so it by default requires more power than the 4870 normal edition...

on load 4870 requires 150watt and 4890 requires 190watt of power.......so some 4870 might have 1 6pin connector.....but the OC versions shld not...

Bro,Yap i agree with u that it may be that 4870 toxic edition may require more power but i dont agree with u that 4870 toxic has 2 six pin.It requires only 1 six pin.I just give the links of sapphire official website.See for urself. It says 1 six pinx75 Watt for 4870 toxic.

    ---------- Post added at 11:17 ---------- Previous post was at 10:47 ----------

    ---------- Post added at 11:17 ---------- Previous post was at 11:17 ----------

One thing more.In the sapphire website just see carefully sapphire 4870 normal edition requires 2*75watt 6pin.that means 2*75=150watt.But when it comes to 4870toxic it requires 1*75watt six pin.that means 1*75=75watt.it must not exceed double times of 150watt.so i think extra cooling capacity is added.

    ---------- Post added at 11:46 ---------- Previous post was at 11:17 ----------

As an electrical engineer its just basic idea how much watt is supplying and by what ways-1 six pin*75watt or 2 six pin *75watt.So its my opinion th8 if 1 six pin*75watt then it requires less power.tx.[COLOR="Silver"]

    Not really..you see a PCIe 16 port gives 75 watt power...a 6pin gives 75 watt....so some times it works...

and about liteower 400 watt...its 2 12v combined output is 19A.....so it can only give around 220 watt on 12v rail...so no way a 4870 will run on it....if you dont have a processor than it might be ok...

Bro,yap thats a point. But bro i search all over the net & i found minimum of 2 12V combined output is 26A for litepower 400W so thats about 310 watt. And thats enough to run 4850/4870.I just see this websites and have a clear idea.
Under full load of core2duo 3.0Ghz its just 353Watt tested.See that-
    http://www.guru3d.com/article/ati-ra...-4670-review/4
But anyway tx bros i will just test that if 4870toxic can run.If not then there is room for 5770.

    LP400w has 2 12v rails.....14A on 12v1...and 16A on 12v2...bt combined they can only pull 19A....and man i own one...and there is a line...

"Total combined 12v1 and 12v2 load should not exceed 19A"

    So there it is..
