    Default Magnetic lift

Can two repelling magnets(natural, electro or any other) lift a person in the air 10-15 feet.If not what should be the modification?

cant really...you see the magnet looses its power exponentially as you increase the distance...

so magnets cant really lift a person 15 fit...

what you can do is use a magnet to lift a person............................you see in garbage yards they use a magnet like that..

Don't think 10-15 feet is possible. That's a pretty log distance. The farther you go, the more the flux lines spread away, thus decreasing the field strength.

There are linear motors that uses magnets. In very long buildings, these motors are used in lifts, because the long cables are too heavy too use there..
These types of magnet can lift people to very high distances but the magnet is also very long. In this case you will need a 15 feet long magnet.

Another possibility is to use the earth's magnetic field for levitation. Its an idea that NASA is testing out in space.

yeas it will force maybe 1-2 feet in that config...

see after that the force will get too weak...

if you also move the bottom magnet than it might work...

Here's a design, but it may shoot the lift at very high speeds rather than lifting it. And it'll need very high voltage to operate. And thus the insulations also need to be very thick. It will work but its really not practical. Why do you want to build something like this.

the idea is great, simple actually since opposite poles will repel each other, it can be done. BUT: you would need a very strong magnet (normal/electro) which is not really practical for a height of 15feet!

anyways, if you dont mind me asking: what is it for ? 8-|

As far as I remember that bed costs 1 million$(1000000$).I can't understand why it costs so much.It would be great if we could build something close to that in our home.

yeah cause this thing just dont need 2 magnets...it requires multiple magnets to balance it....and cost of designe and RnD also counts...
