There are various ways you can speed up the Internet speed of your pc but the simplest way is to take out the 20% bandwidth reservation from Microsoft update on your system.
In XP, Microsoft reserve 20% of your bandwidth for its own updates and services and It’s complete waste of bandwidth.
So you can save your 20% of bandwidth by disabling this 20% reservation.
Follow the following easy steps to speed your internet.
1. Click - Run
Type - gpedit.msc
2. Then "group policy editor" will open. Then go to -
Local Computer Policy / Computer Configuration / Administrative Templates / Network / QOS Packet Scheduler / Limit Reservable Bandwidth
3. Double click on Limit Reservable bandwidth. It will say it is not configure.
Now select, ENABLE reservable bandwidth, then set it to "0"
