Make sure to use the SATA III native port that's based on the motherboard's chipset and not the ones featured by 3rd party controllers, use Windows 8.1 and use GPT partitioning for the SSD, those figures look fine to me. Never defrag your SSD but use Trim instead.

Run the default windows defragmenter tool, that will show you an Optimize option and will do a Trim if it's an SSD.

Defraggler, is a much better option than the utility that comes with windows. However, I've yet to use it with SSDs as I never felt it could use a TRIM.

trim was on...it seems installing windows on AHCI mood turns on TRIM... but to get the trim to work properly you need to keep you ssd on and idle...i didnt know that

I distinctly remember you were suggesting someone in BG to buy a Crucial SSD but I guess it was before this problem arose.

For first one/one and half year, it was excellent, surpassing the then monster vertex 3 and intel 3xx series with ease. But when the problem started to arise.............................. sigh. I thought Crucial has solved it in their newer drives. But alas!

You don't need to do anything, I'm sure your PC stays idle for some time when you're away. Trim doesn't take long.

so i was wondering is there anyway i can improve this??? make it faster
i may sound like a noob..and thats because i am one so please dont insult me

    thanks
if this is your boot drive then it's the access time that matters the most n ur one is doing just fine.SSD is properly aligned as well. don't worry too much about read and write speed as a minor incr or decr is hardly noticeable in real life. enjoy ur drive.
