Default Asus Xonar Essence STX Soundcard

Up for sale is the Essence STX card from the Xonar series by Asus. For those who know what this card is all about, this needs no introduction.

For others, I'd just like to say that this is probably the best value in all of hifi and the best internal soundcard (for music) hands down; this is no childs play-good-sound-quality gimmick thing, this is all out HIFI.

Please do note that this soundcard has been made specifically for music; but that is not to say this will anyhow disappoint in games like cs 1.6 and such. My best advice to you would be to come to my place and check it out yourself.

Along with all my braggings here are two links to external websites to give you a better understanding of this card. One from Sterephile(hifi based) and another from guru3d(you guys know better).

    http://www.stereophile.com/computera...tx_soundcards/

    http://www.guru3d.com/article/asus-x...ce-stx-review/

*Purchased in June 2010 from Malaysia

*Asking price BDT 14000 (fixed) (online price is about $200 @ US) Contact : 01674835143

*Product condition is MINT. I have the box and all the original accesories. In addition you will get 2 more opamps to alter the sound signature to your likings. Name of the opamps are LME49860NA.

*Recieved 1 year warranty from Malaysia but i would nt count too much on that because getting your warranty honored would mean going to malaysia and getting it serviced/exchanged.

*I have bought/been using this soundcard for my headphone listening specifically, and this has served my needs beyond my expectations. However, the nature of high end audio is such that upgrading is a temptation almost impossible to resist. Therefore, I am selling this because i am moving up the ladder and buying dedicated stand alone devices for audio.

Asus makes some really good soundcards apart from xfi. I have both the xfi extreme gamer and asus xoner hdav 1.3. But in my experience asus one sounds better..

Asking price too high. Card has been used for approx. 3-4 months. There has been some usage; some reduction in value. Full retail price is not fair. Pictures of the card has been not posted - is it still being used by the OP (original poster)?
This is a good card, yes. Also has been known to have issues with Win 7 drivers, esp 64bit.

You can 't get 1 for the retail price over here, therfore the owner has good reasons to charge a premium for this class of products.

The way i look at it, price seems fair to me. I am still using the card on my pc, but i assure you it is in MINT condition. About the issues with Windows 7 drivers, I am not sure, because i am using it with XP; my understanding of this is that sooner or later Asus will solve the issues with a new driver. Anyway, thanks for checking out the product!

    Disagree!

As he said he is still using it in his PC. Many may not be encouraged to buy a hi-end item (somewhat questionable) that is still being used by the owner -- at the full retail price. Availability/shortage economics should not be much of an issue here. It is not life-saving drugs or fuel. It is a niche product.

Even if owner can ask for a premium - according to your rationale -- his premium should be fair. I still hold quoted price is unrealistic in view of all the factors owner has provided. If you look @ all the BG shop threads here - u will see the 'fair price' plight of the buyers.

So you buy products in BD for the USA retail price? Really?

This will be atleast 15K+ if it was sold in BD. In that case, the price is less than the retail price of BD. If I am selling a used GTX 460 768MB for 12,600, will the price be too much because its a used product being sold at USA retail price? Also, this product sells online at near retail price, its not even like its sold at great discounts. I dont understand your point at all

Finally, if you do not wish to purchase this product, its best if you refrain from further comments. Let the people interested to buy it decide if the price is too high, which it is not IMO

Amar to ar kicchu bolte hoilo na, onnorai bole dilo. If u disagree then y don 't buy 1 for me at 200USD and show it to me ? And u r no1 to decide whthr it is an overpriced life saver or not, the intrstd buyer will. Sm1 might value the product to an extent of buying it at market price even though it has been used for a while. And i don 't unerstand when u say - "Many may not be encouraged to buy a hi-end item (somewhat questionable) that is still being used by the owner ". What is he supposed to do ? Plug it out 'f his rig, put it aside and look at it while reading the newspaper at morning tea ? He has said that it is used, it doesn 't matter whether he 's using it or not while making this post. Isn 't he supposed to listen to music until he sells this to gather money and buy his new gadgets ?
Final question - Who 's forcing you to buy it, BTW ?
Mazhar, Bd te ashle eta 18k chaito. And he 's even providing 2 extra op-amps along with the card.

Why don't we just go silent now and let the product to be sold in peace?
Only buyers guys ... everything else stops now.

As per Amarex - stopping comments, though a lot of unfair comments were chucked out and I did want to clarify my points. Alas! No point in another thread spiraling out of control like the 'QURAN BURNING' one.

FYI - I was an INTERESTED BUYER! The price made me think, though I had some 2nd thoughts. But the rest of the guys' posts (WHO WERE ALSO NOT BUYERS) definitely dissuaded me frm the item. Thanks all!

If you are a buyer, better just offer your price than calculating this and that and let the seller decide if he will sell it or not.

Im sorry for one more off topic post, but I just had to. You were a buyer, some posts from people saying this is a good price has dissuaded you from buying it? How is that even possible? :S

Youre free to not reply to this post if you think you dont want to clarify your point still. Np
