    Default XFX vs. sapphire Which is better when it comes to 5850?

    I ve a a gut feeling that sapphire ll be better in ATi cards. But since sapphire cards for 5850 are not very available in BD, shud i go for XFX?Will it be much of a difference? how is the cooling in XFX?

    And also, if XFX ati cards suck, shud i consider nVidia again? fermi perhaps?

    I'm never buying an XFX card again. A lot of people in these forums have burned out XFX 8800GTs, me included. I have a 6 year old Sapphire Radeon 9600XT in my old PC, and it's still running perfectly fine.

    Sapphire FTW

    I'm using an XFX HD4830 for about a year! Still packs quite a punch for a low range card ^_^

    4830 was more or less equals to the 9800gt which was better than 8800gt. They all were very good cards.

    @orodruinbd
    Yeah, XFX 8XXX series cards had issues.i remember.

    And thanks guys for the heads up. I ve been using Sapphire HD 4850, amazing card..b4 that i had XFX 9600GSO, dint have too many bad experiences with that either. Just confused about their ATi products...so i guess i ll just go over to UCC, ask for a Sapphire first,and if they cant, ill just go with XFX.

    Well, it doesn't matter what subvendor you get, as all of them are good or bad. Any chip may die or show instabilities. But if XFX card bothers me, I curse XFX every minute and get a Sapphire. If a Sapphire card bothers you, then you do exactly the same to that Sapphire card and recommend others XFX ones. Its that simple.

    When it comes to 5850, I recommend Sapphire. I used both XFX and Sapphire ones. XFX 5850 black edition had a problem, but thats not why I am not recommending XFX. As I said, any product may fail anytime, thats why warranty is for. It had ATI stock cooler. Sapphire has better custom cooler. So, its cooler and provides better OC potential. When I bought GPUs, it was those scorching summer days, with ambient of 35-36 C in Dhaka (there was storm like "breeze", btw, hope you remember, back in April). XFX idled around 49-51 C. Sapphire idled around 43-45C. XFX hit 88C under load (fan was like a helicopter engine roaring). Sapphire hit 83C under load (silent).

    Its your choice, of course.

    @ shohag2018
    Go for Sapphire brand...............Sapphire is best for ATI atleast it's quality is great ................In percentage lot of people had bad experience with XFX cards but not with Sapphire cards .........And also in buying XFX cards u may have doubt about it's durability but InsAllah u will not have in terms of Sapphire cards..........So Sapphire .............

    To get that, contact them BEFORE buying. For eg: 1 month or even before. It easy, just mail them inquiring different things. Once they know you're good buyer, they'll give you best support.

    Also, notice how they behave when you buy things. And how their behavior radically changes when you make the payment, LOL. They'll not offer you anything before, but will start offering drinks, snacks bla bla bla after you make payment. It was damn funny.

    Well, I think he tried to mean (sequentially corrected) "good", "Sapphire 5850 cards for him".

    BTW, that was a bit insulting, you could ask him in a better way.
