Accessing a modem which is behind the router:
Step 1: Set different IP ranges for the modem and the router.
Step 2: Go to the routers configuration page. Click on Administration and then click on Commands.
Step 3: In the Commands box, type "ifconfig `nvram get wan_ifname`:0 192.168.1.2 netmask 255.255.255.0" without the quotations marks. [My modem's IP range is 192.168.1.1. So, I put 192.168.1.2 there. You can put any IP there as long as it's in the modem's IP range.]
Now you access the modem without having to disconnect the router.
If anyone wants to know how to flash DD-WRT, or to create a seperate Wi-Fi connection just for file sharing, post here or shoot me a PM.
