It's true that nobody may not play Farcry 2 anymore but Furcry 2 engine is being used in a lot of games, eg: Avatar. Optimizing for those older games also benifits newer games which are using that engine. Hell even Nvidia optimizes their driver for older games. This is changelog for Forceware258.96

    • Up to 11% in Aliens vs. Predator (1920x1200 4xAA/16xAF – Tessellation on)
    • Up to 7% in Crysis: Warhead (SLI – 1920x1200 4xAA/16xAF – Gamer)
    • Up to 4% in H.A.W.X (SLI – 1920x1200 4xAA/16xAF – Very High)
    • Up to 10% in Just Cause 2 (SLI – 1920x1200 4xAA/16xAF - Concrete Jungle)
    • Up to 6% in Metro 2033 (1920x1200 4xAA/16xAF – Tessellation on)
    • Up to 7% in Metro 2033 (SLI – 1920x1200 4xAA/16xAF – Tessellation on)
    • Up to 10% in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat (1920x1200 4xAA/16xAF)
    • Up to 12% in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat (SLI – 1920x1200 4xAA/16xAF)
    • Up to 4% in World in Conflict (SLI – 1920x1200 4xAA/16xAF)
I don't know why people whines about ATI drivers but I've never found anything bad with them. Previously I've used two Nvidia cards now two ATI cards (Desktop and Notebook) and never faced any problem with drivers on any platform. Yes there are some minor issues like Adobe Flash GPU acceleration not working but this sort of problems persists on both platforms.

WOW- saying "Mr" before a name is "whining" ? No offense, please do get your facts straight before posting like this. I just addressed you as a buddy & "yet" you call this whining!

Anyways, get back on the topic!

I don't know why people whines about ATI drivers but I've never found anything bad with them. Previously I've used two Nvidia cards now two ATI cards (Desktop and Notebook) and never faced any problem with drivers on any platform. Yes there are some minor issues like Adobe Flash GPU acceleration not working but this sort of problems persists on both platforms.
just luk at da list. The list of nvidia is often bigger.
