Bro, no one here knows, since most of us haven't had the luxury of experiencing the stores in said countries.

Electronics/electrical stuff: Patuatuli, Nawabpur, Stadium market. (puran dhaka)
    Mechanical stuff: Dholaikhal, Nawabpur.

it took me a great deal of searching to find a simple stepper motor a few days ago... so be prepared 2 walk a lot.

u'll find most stuff for projects of BSc level in these places. obviously u won't find anything that they use in developed countries. u probably won't b doing anything that they do in developed countries either. if u need something that u can't find here, talk 2 ur varsity's teachers, they can help u buy stuff from abroad.

Is there a way to get permission or license to bring any stuff and material of my choice from abroad?

i don't think it requires a permission or license. not unless u want 2 bring in bulk that is.

Can I bring in things like titanium, crystal titanium, boron carbide.lathe machine, integrated circuits etc without license or permission?I heard that Bangladesh Customs Office is in charge of import, export and they cause a lot of problems like wanting money etc.

err... i don't know abt titanium, BC and whether they require special permission. thats why i said talk to varsity's teachers. they know abt these stuff. but i think u can find lathe machine and most ICs here.

I am asking all these question because I want to construct a device which will change our country towards good.I am sorry as I cant tell anything about it but its not anything like a weapon. For doing that I will need to conduct a big research. Thanks to all for your suggestions. I was also thinking of starting a business of electronic goods in the future which will be manufactured in Bangladesh. Will it be a profitable business.I will need a lot of money for my research you know.

lathe machine and ICs are available in BD...and you can get them from abroad also.......

But what are you going to do with titanium....with raw titanium you have to manipulate it some how right.....

And about making electronic stuff.....you see i know a guy you know....he is a genius.....he used to make mobos for PCs in BD:O

But after SMD came to market he couldnt compete.....you see SMD changed the whole picture of manufacturing electronics.....so now a days companies design a device....and outsource the build to china or Taiwan...cause it is really cost effective......you see a SMD line is really costly to built....so no point doing it....even nvidia and ati outsources their gpu builds to TSMC...

And i am also thinking of building a CNC and a 3D printer my self......

So you are surely saying that it's not possible to start manufacturing electronics in Bangladesh.By the way how much will it cost to make SMD?

Why it wont be possible? But it wont be cost effective!! Unless you want to make television and charger lights and sell them in the country!!
Bangladesh is not the best place start a electronics industry, no reliable power service, no stable political scenario, no trained man power ... no Way!!

Walton targeted some key electronics devices that everyone needs and sold things really cheap. However, people still prefer Samsung et al for these.
Rahimafrooz...meh. They are just ....... . Anyways, they targeted a precise field where Bangladesh lacks heavily: Lack of electricity. thus they are successful.

If Walton,Rahim Afroz is big then what about Samsung/Sony/Dell and others? Giants may be!!

Look I don't wanna discourage you, anything you do, I believe that you have good intention to help the country. But its best for you to realize the truth before then a loss project.

If you wish to target only local market and can make quality home electronics then you have a chance to survive. There are still many gaps to fill that will bring you some heavy profit but you would probably laugh at the idea first. Like in Bangladesh we don't have any reputed fan company other than Tongi national. Besides Tongi national doesn't make pedestal fans so Pakistani brands are doing monopoly here. Plus national is damn expensive. But look, the whole product is made of solid metal, theres nothing to waste, even after 10 years, you can recycle a fan with a minimum cost. Heres the interesting thing, even if the coil is burned, you can replace it and sell the burned coil for a pretty good price cause its all copper, so not much warranty costs. Even so, theres no good fan company that provides good and respectful warranty in BD.
