    Default Fallout : Lonestar

Since Fallout 4 is becoming the next most anticipated game after Half Life 3 that developers choose to ignore, the modding community decided to step in. They are going to make a Fallout : New Vegas mod which is completely standalone game with its own characters, faction, creatures, locations, gears and such set in Texas. Set in El paso, Texas, Fallout : Lonestar is by far the most ambitious project taken by modders in my opinion. They have their own website http://www.falloutlonestar.com/

This adventure into the New Old West is brought to you by Vault-Tec, America’s First Choice in Post Nuclear Simulation. Thrill at the lawless lands and even lawless-er people of the great Texas Commonwealth, birthplace of the mythological Cowboy! Marvel at the rich Texas oil fields that propelled modern man into the nuclear age,1 and explore the ruins of a world once locked in a minor dispute with its plucky neighbor to the south, Mexico.2 So don’t wait! Grab one of the millions of guns still waiting to be found and set out to seek your fortune. As always, Vault-Tecpromotes responsible firearm use. Make sure to carry plenty of ammunition with you at all times.
    Features

    New Environment
Explore the ruins of Texas with all new textures and visual assets, making for a completely new experience.

    Cross the Border
Explore the forgotten sands of the Pass, but, for the first time, step out of the United States and learn the fate of Mexico in the lost city of Juarez.

    Six New Companions
The Ranger will need to recruit gunslingers, vigilantes, mercenaries, and outlaws to protect the Pass. With two companions in your group at any time, each companion will be essential to the story and will interact with other companions on your journey.

    Learn About the Great War
Learn more about the fate of the United States in the years building up to the Great War. Fallout: Lonestar explores events such as the U.S. Invasion and Occupation of Mexico, the Resource Wars, and the New Plague.

    New Monsters
Beware mutated Texan critters such as frightening Stalkers, adorable and menacing Terrorweeds, and the ornery but helpful Megadillo.

Ofcourse there's a chance that it will never come out, but I'd say its slim. They already gone too far to abandon this. And they are expected to launch a kickstarter campaign soon to cover the resources and I'm sure it will have more than few responses.

There are few things that can't be done by devoted people.

They are not charging anything to play it, it will sell a few more New Vegas if anything. Bethesda has nothing to disapprove. Standalone mods was created for fallout before as well as for skyrim, nothing this huge though.

Tech Demo - Disciple Train Mechanic

Also a new companion(Tabitha) concept art has been created

A smuggler from beyond the Great Wall, Tabitha is aggressive, analytical, smart, and stubborn. Sticking to the plan is both her greatest asset and ultimate flaw, as stubbornness leads to inflexibility. If all goes according to plan, little can stand in her way. When things don’t go her way, Tabitha is the last to stand down.

Which is why Tabitha is an inmate of Van Buren Prison. The facility has thus far contained Tabitha at substantial cost, much to the warden’s frustration, because Van Buren’s death penalty protocol states that no prisoner is allowed to die, by violence or neglect, under any circumstances. A fact that Tabitha exploits daily to make her stay as unpleasant for everyone else as it is for her.
