    Default Metro 2033

Did any1 playing this game experience v-sync off probs?
The game has no on menu v-sync option!

I am on win 7 32 bit and I cud not get anything done with catalyst control center. I had to resort to D3D overrider.

    Anyone experienced this?

Why do you need to turn on V-Sync? Do you have a GTX 480 Tri-SLI setup?

Cuz it tears on hi-rez @ 1600*900 with every other visual treat turned to max.

Now a decent answer with explanations wud b nice, pls! Instead of flying one-liner comments.

    I remember having v-sync with my 4670 but with a 5850 I need additional v-sync software.

Are you sure it's tearing and not something else? What's your FPS in-game? I doubt you're getting a constant 60+ FPS.

Tearing occurs only when you get excessively high FPS and your monitor can't cope with the GPU. Please check and make sure that it's REALLY tearing.

Ya I tested this too, with Crysis not Metro. V-Sync reduced tearing even though I never got 75 FPS. Don't know why:S

U can Enable V-Sync manually by:-
    1)
Turn on Show Hidden Files in folder options.
    2) Go to C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Local Settings\Application Data\4A Games\ Metro 2033 and open user.cfg
    3) Next search for r_vsync off and change it to on.

That's it, U r done It'll increase ur FPS a lot & also prevent screen tearin'. I'm usin' this li'l tweak & gettin' a great FPS boost with no screen-tearin'

    >YES, it is tearing. No doubts abt that. I put hi settings to test out the new 5850. Monitor only supports up2 16*9. The 4670 was a damn good card. It wud run Metro @ 1600*900.

    >Yes, I did the manual config in the .cfg file. Does not work! Mayb due to version difference?

    >Using D3D overrider to negate tearing. My hi-end card is on a g31 mobo and a 2.75ghz e5200. Cud b some bottle-necking?

I have prevented the tearing - but I am trying to figure out what is the prob?
