    Default Dual GPU Setup

3 years Warranty left and bought from SMART technologies.

    Market price: 32000tk
    Asking price: 31000tk

Fresh and very new cause it was bought last month.

    Reason for selling:

I am a counter strike source player. the new legal rule of the game is to use the directx8 not directx9 anymore. my 5870 is so updated that it does not support dx8 well. that's why i have to switch to older cards to continue playing source

I had a good laugh too reading the reason.

you can always go for dual card if you have dual PCI-E.

    yeah. very sad thing.

Ati HD cards are not good for CSS cause of its driver they stopped 16bit rendering. I want to switch to Nvidia. A 260GTS has 600fps where as a 5870 in same rig has 100 to 250 fps but killing fps in crysis about 60+ but 260 with 25+fps.

Dual wont support the old game. I also used the 4870 x2 which was worse!

5870 is much worse with directx8!

    not crossfire/sli.
just plain and simple dual cards. when playing CSS, use the nvidia card.
for everything else, use the ati card.

when you have two gfx cards on your system running individually, it kinda becomes like dual monitor setup but a little bit different.

if you have an IGP, you can force enable your IGP from bios and keep your discreet gfx card on too.
then you can try out how this works (without installing two gfx cards).

So does he need two monitors for this setup or this can be done with a single monitor? A lot of the new monitors have the option of two different inputs. So can i take two outputs from the two PCIes and use them in a single monitor?

if your monitor is auto selecting input, then i guess it's not possible.
but if it's like HDTVs where you can select which input to use, sure.
If all fails, use the other card for regular use and css play (since he'll be playing css most of the time).
when he needs to play some latest game, just plug the monitor cable in the other gfx card.

I'd suggest practically trying it out first before you jump the gun.

I will try it as soon i get the nvidia card and let it know. I also got some hints that i can use the nvidia card as physx side by side with my Ati but need a patch to activate it since Nvidia switches off physx if they find any Ati product.

    ---------- Post added at 19:09 ---------- Previous post was at 19:01 ----------

I used to have a xfx 8800gts but i fried it putting it in my woven. mistakenly i put the power to microwave instead of grill repair toh hoiloina pura agun dhore gelo. it was a simple problem where i used to have a thin horizontal red line which was suppose to go away after the woven heat. Ekhon looking for a 8800 series or 9800 series.

U can come over or call me up if u plan to use an NVIDIA card for physx.
Yes,u can google it up,but not all info is available in 1 place and the latest revision of the patch is not as good as the older 1,plus it will save a lot of your time.
