Default how far the local inkjet systems(chinese) go in a printer?

hi all.i went in multiplan to buy a printer which have photo printing quality.there i found a new trendy business about imported inkjet systems.it goes like that this if u use original refills then u will end up using 2500 tk for about 150 photos depending on resolution whereas if u use this system (which costs 3000-3500 tk. for the system plus 300 tk for each refill tank--like epson t10 use 4 tanks) u can print about 750-1200 photos with the first system and with 300 tk per refill tank u can end up having those amount of photos printe by 1200-1500 tk.now my question is how much impact these inkjet systems have on printer's original head and how will be the print quality.have anyone got any experience using these systems?

This process is called CISS (continuous ink supply system). I used this with an old Canon Pixma IP3000 for a year or so. Then I left the printer idle for some months and the ink dried on the head. I got the head cleaned from the same shop at Tk.300 and used it for further two months and now it is in that dried condition again. The process is good if you have a lot of colour printings to do very often. But if you tend to leave the printer unused for days, forget about it. I have now switched to a monochrome laser printer Lexmark E120N and even if I leave it off for months, the ink is fully ok.

There are many possibilities though. If it prints OK, just go by it. You may look at the following:

    1. Ok if it is a CISS system, no matter what brand you use, it will always show zero ink.
    2. Now, if you bought an original cartridge and it shows empty, you will have to clean the head (if it is not HP as HP cartridges have heads built-in).
    3. If you bought a replacement/alternative cartridge, showing zero ink is normal (again if it is not HP as HP alternative cartridges have built-in sensors too).
    4. If you happen to have an HP printer and it shows zero ink, you have problems in the printer chip itself. Get it repaired by a proper technician.

All these repairs can be carried out at a shop in IDB in Level 3 on the far South-West corner (on the road of Binary Logic).

hi guys.thanx for your advice.i bought a brother hl 2140 (price -7000 tk)after visiting this post.it works great and can print more than 2500 pages per 4500 tk toner.the toner that come with it a piece of crap thou..it only let me print 114 pages..which made me worried like hell.but after applying the new toner i already printed about 2600 pages and it doesn't shoe empty yet.i mainly print text books downloaded from net which has some color pics..so i wanted cheap color printing option.but after reading this post and hearing from other horrible experiences i decided against it.thanx again guys specially mdtahmid.

    Tahmid:

What is the name of this shop tht does printer ink work? Do they work on printer cartridges, like refill etc - how much they charge?

I, too, have the problem of ink drying up on the all-in-one hp f2280 printer. It is a great printer and scanner/copier but the damn ink keeps drying up every 2 months that I do not use. I used a refill once but did not get much output and cost was high. So now, I use the laser printer in my office - toner refill costs 600-700 BDT and the output is approx. 5000 pages.

Same ¤¤¤¤ here.I saw one of these Continuous ink supply system jacked into my friends' printers at his shop. I liked the kit itself so much that i hurried and bought one for my ip4200.It used to dry up so often that i was completely frustrated and left this whole system to rot in my store room.
