Default Samsung F3 HDD reliability issue!

Samsung F3 HDDs are hailed for performance but I've heard several issues concerning Samsung HDD's (f3) long term reliability. Backed by a nice 3 year warranty, but you know the drill when a drive goes to warranty. the data recovery process can be a real PiTA during that time.

So i just want user feedback specially from those who actually own these drives.

F3 1TB fine here for around 6 months now, switched from running WD drives for around 5 years.

What reliability concerns though? I see it around the same as the F1, any major concerns or sth?

A friend of mine talked to a guy ( they know each other ) who works in the warranty section and he said " samsung er hdd beshi warranty te ashe"

but obviously his word alone isn't enough to measure a drive's reliability.

Samsung HDD's are sold more than any other devices in BD so their defect rate are mostly high

Yeah...the prob is samsung probably dominates 40-60% of BDs storage sales right now.....so it creates more warranty claims.....

My cousin used to have a Western Digital hard disk, it became defective within 6 months. Good thing he had warranty. Isn't WD a brand people swear by? So, as with every piece of hardware, it all comes down to luck...

Ami jototuku analysis kore ber kore deksi (subjective analysis ) je Western Digital er hdd gula Western environment er jonno banano hoy. So less heat to amneo thake plus oder majority casings are not as crap as our ones. Pura intel er 38 degree thermal casing pai ora. So amader deshe hdd gula tikte pare na. Plus heavy power cutouts and up downs to asei. But this is my subjective thinking and so dont take it seriously

Well the other alternative brand u have is Seagate which is also very good. Honestly speaking Samsung drives are very good. Amar 500GB ase akta. It has sustainable data transfer rate of about 130 MBps at 0-5% sectors and around 90-100 MBps around 50% sector ........ Sisoft Sandra diye rating kore deksi amar hdd ranked 72% among the default database present in the software. Very good performance for the price.

I'm running a Samsung Spinpoint 80GB IDE drive in my homeserver that runs 24x7 and has been running for months continuously. I bought the HDD with an old PC back in 2006. Warranty is over. Still not a single issue. It is total luck. Once a drive survives the first episode of blow in its initial year, it will continue endlessly for years to follow. That is how mechanical drives go. It was surprising how the HDD inside my Transcend StorJet 500GB ran down in less than two months without any bumping or power failure. The HDD (Toshiba) was replaced by the dealer but I lost some data in the process. I recently sold a PC with a WD Caviar drive in it. This HDD lasted me 2.5years without any hiccups.
