Advantage: Small, doesnt take much space as the usual(full size) ATX mobos.
Disadvantage: Lack of features comparing against the ATX counterpart, less PCI/e slots, less USB ports(not all the time!), less heatsinks, components on the PCB are too cramped!.

These are the one I know, google to get more ideas.

ya since the PCB is too cramped compared to usual full ATX mobos, the mobos tend to heat up. But some of them have very good cooling system with well placed heatsinks on the board.

The one CvP mentioned is a GEM for the price! Even if it has heat problems, you can just rip the hs & apply new TIM ^^

I'd go for ECS over crap gigabyte/xfx/asus any day.

also, xCross runs his pc 24/7.

    Default Re: Micro Atx Mobo!!!!

I had a ecs via board which i bought on 2003 for my P4...i used it for 4 yrs and than sold it to one of my area bros...who uses it as a office PC...and it still runs great....i had a 2.26GHz p4...i OCed th proc to 2.78 GHz...at that the proc was totally stable...but i stopped OCing after i heard about the SND prob with Intel NorthWood chips...> and at that time i have never seen any intel or any mobo which supported any OCing...one of my friends intel 865 mobo would just refuse to start if i oced it 1MHz...

and by the way ECS and Foxcon makes mobos for all the big OEM companies like DELL/ HP and of coarse i think intel boards are also outsourced to ECS...

Confronting CvP....my only prob with them not with hardware...its that these mobos dont have sufficient bios features..which a good / top of the line gigabyte/asus mobo has...and they dont do sufficient in house testing...

One of the ecs 9500gt i bought for a friend had a really peculiar problem...the used some kinda clear plastic mounting and for the fan on the HS...i think that plastic was not sufficiently heat resistant...as a result the mounting melted and totally destroyed the fan in 5 months.....and one more thing the hs was so small and so low quality that it was not remotely enough for heat dissipation...and in the process before my friend realized it (he is not good with computers) the GPU sustained unrepairable damage...

ECS never aims for high end afaik. their products are low/mid ranged; excellently priced and rock solid.

that's a single incident i guess. my friend has a game zone. he ditched ALL xfx (nvidia) cards after numerous heat/stability/performance issues.
switched to same model card from ECS. guess what..every problem went away and ECS cards were cheaper too.

I, myself, am using ECS nvidia card instead of gigabye/xfx.

    1. No, that's a wrong info.
    2. No again... That happens to some model, but not to all. And, it doesn't happens after 7~8 hours, infact more than 3~4 days maybe. :S

ECS may be good, but calling GIGABYTE/ASUS a crap isn't fair... :/ Agreed on XFX, though that doesn't applies to reference GPUs.

And btw, ECS is not cheaper in other countries...

and by the way ECS and Foxcon makes mobos for all the big OEM companies like DELL/ HP and of coarse i think intel boards are also outsourced to ECS...

Umm... how ECS products are 'excellently priced' in other countries and how each and every of them are 'rock solid'... ?

    we are in Bangladesh.

those XFX cards were reference cards.

gigabyte/asus are crap compared to ECS when it comes to low/medium-low end.
