Noob question / poll: "Does the super awesome gear make you better?"

Hello, I've heard quite alot recently about how "gear" [new hip way of calling mouse, keyboard, headphone and even mouse pads] makes you a better player. I want to know why people think that.

I don't know which way people will take this, or if people who I respect and knew as the olden days [when I played] captains and and players when I played still agree but this is what the majority agreed on:

"Gear doesn't make you better, just improves your game by a lil bit, around 1-5%."

Now, I know that's a decent amount, but do you think it's worth it for someone who doesn't have the basics, who didn't work hard to learn it the hard way.

Oh, I wanna add this.

Ever since this "uber gear" was introduced to BD, poeple have been "playing better", now many would say good job gear, but I would say, YOU, the players and even people who play for fun, KNOW more, LEARNED more, TRY more than people 5 years ago, you have the advantage of learning from older and experienced players, and I don't like the "gear" to get the credit, I give it to the gaming community and people of BD.

I'd say it's about 80% you and 20% your gear. however, that 20% does matter a lot. especially in good matches.

Your absoulety right gears and better equipments does matter but but,people nowdays are gear freaks they think a 4000dpi mouse will make them pro.The fact is if you haven't learnt the basic games you can never really make the use of that added dpi and buttons etc. At least after buying a a4tech office x7 my game has improved significantly because I used to play with 200tk harma mouse .

Anyway skillz>gear but gears help you to put out your potential better. Anyway a noob with a adder is like a Pentium 3 CPU and 5870HD GPU. enuf said

Tho,i think if u feel comfortable using your controller or gear then u can improve ur skills.

again it differs from person 2 person.Some play FIFA better with KB abR oneke cntrlR e valo khele.

In a word...
It does not matter wh8 gear u are playing with...it matters how easily u can control the game with it.

tahmid bhai as you will notice this is a topic in the cs section .. so your points about controllers/fifa is slightly irrelevant

anyway i'd agree that the basics is the most important thing and a DA wont make your aim insane UNLESS your aim really is insane .. i think gears in cs helps you harness your full potential ... but gears er moddhe headphone slightly more important and i think a proffessional gaming headset can improve your game A LOT ... but overall gears wont make you twice as good as you were but will definitely improve your performance noticably ...

I think some gear which suitable to me make me more powerful

for example, i used A4tech and Logitec MX300 and result is

MX300 is much much better


MX300 and 518

I felt 300 is better than 518


Suitable gear is best for you

I feel better when i use my MX300 without PAD

Well some of you guys already told what I would like to say here. I believe, a minimum level of "Gear" is essential for every gamer. And after that level, no matter how skyhigh you mouse DPI or how smoth you pad doesn't count anymore. The most and rest of it is skill and talent .. pure and maximum!!!

Eitai akhon start hoise jara dekhe partesena blame kore je oder gears ase dekhe ora pare.Only pro vs pro match actually gears eer importance dekha jai.Anyway gears won't help if you don't know how to plant a bomb ( akdin bomber jiggesh korsilo "vai bomb kamne plant kore " in bdgaming server xD)

anyway i guess all means that players should become GOOD first and then buy gears not buy gears then get good .. thats what i did .. i bought an x7 some 15 months ago and only in august this year have i bough a proffessional mouse (intelli) .. mouse pad isnt ridiculously important but i've been using a steelseries one for about a year. . i dont have pro kb/headsets yet but will soon have a pro headset .. wonder how much difference thats gonna make ^_^

Well for me, My gaming performance is increasing day by day because of my gears. i can kill more preciously because of my mouse and KB

also for non fps game my controller giving me real boost. i love my gears.

i like to add more gears to get more precision.
