Site Down from Morning to Afternoon [4th March]

Our hosting provider, HostGator, was performing some maintenance works on our server.
Due to some "perfect storm", some tables from the forum database got corrupt.

This is generally not a big deal. I could have attempted to fix it myself but I let them fix it since they are the ones who are responsible. First support person was able to partially fix the problem and I had to wait for another support person who fixed it properly.

During this whole time, I got almost 2750 emails notifying me about database error.
Each time someone tried to browse, s/he got a database error msg and I received an automated email about it.
Since morning 0730 to afternoon 1500; in just ~8 hours 2750 page visit is nice

Sorry for all the trouble.

Hostgator is one of the best host out there.
Nice to know that forum DB is fixed now.

Hmm. I used to know another forum, they ran SMF and used hostgator too I think. They got the same kinds of DB errors once. :/
