Tomb Raider gets its first review score and its from April 2013 issue of GameMaster magazine. The magazine gave Tomb Raider a 90% score and praise the game's visual with 95% rating in the graphics category.
The magazine also enjoyed the vivid hubs and final third of the game with its spectacular bombast. GamesMaster wished Tomb Raider included more side tombs, but the ones present in the game are a joy to discover. For those wondering: there aren’t many quick time events. The magazine also praised the island setting saying its one of the most memorable playgrounds in gaming.
The final paragraph of the review says:
'...But the final third, with its spectacular bombast only relenting for some great stop-and-think puzzles, blew us away. The 10-15 hour long story draws to a memorably epic conclusion and it takes around 20 hours to fully explore the entire island, something we instantly turned around to do. Sitting back exhausted we were left with just one question dribbling forth from our gaping jaws. How on earth are they going to top this in the sequel? Because of one thing there can be no doubt. Lara is back. Lara doesn't disappoint, while Yamati proves one of the most memorable playgrounds in gaming.'
The embargo will lift Monday so expect rest of the review to be revealed tomorrow. Crystal Dynamics says they are confident about the game's review that's why they let the embargo lift too early.
Tomb Raider is scheduled for release on March 5, 2013 for PC, PS3 & XBOX360.
