Yea not a big leap but better than just about ever other title. I'd say it's intentional, they need this game to run on people's PCs this time

Well, if the games don't sell well and THQ ends up closing, then selling off entire studios is an option since they are owned by THQ and when liquidating, they will have to clear off all debts which also includes the funds they got from this.
This is why you see THQ giving away Metro 2033 for free, they are hoping people will like it enough to buy Last Light. Everything depends on the success of the upcoming games.
