    Story/ Settings

Spec Ops: The Line sets in a futuristic city of Dubai. Story is the best part of this game. Multiple twists in the story with multiple ending makes it more interesting. Also there are some shocking materials in the game and level of violence which are too much.

Loading screens are very dynamic and some scenes are absolutely stunning.

One of the shocking moment in the game which might make you amazed in surprise.

    Graphics

Graphics of Spec Ops: The Line is very amazing. And design of Futuristic Dubai is pretty good. The environments will amaze you sometimes for being so dynamic. The sand storm is EPIC and feels so alive. The game is well optimized to run at 30FPS all the time even on my PC.

    A beautiful vista from rooftop.

A sand storm, blocking your eyesight and movement fluidity.

    Audio

The sound effects of weapons and collisons are good but the game music is quite poor. You will hardly hear any music often. The voice acting is very good.

    Sniping

    Gameplay

Gameplay is quite similar to most other third person shooters. But the gun fights is very good. You will often run out of ammo and have to find out new weapons. The AI is good and they will take cover and shoot most of the time. But you will not have enough command options for your partners.

Keep firing and increase your markman skill, but try to be precise.

Manage your squad during battle and your Battle Management skill will be increased.

    Lasting Appeal

The multiple ending might make you to try the last level quite few times. But even the fact that you can upgrade your skills meter, you can find some hidden items, this game doesn't offer much for replayibility. Those skill upgrades hardly come in handy.

Your partners often will need medical attention, sometimes during some hard fights.

    Yacht in the desert! Majestic?

    Summary

    The Good

    • Story is very good. Multiple twists in the story and multiple ending makes it more interesting.
    • Environments are very amazing, some of them gives the feelings of being close to that location.
    • Graphics and design of Futuristic Dubai is pretty good. The sand storm is EPIC and feels
    • so alive.
    • A few cliffhanger moments which are very violent and might make you emotional.
    • Voice acting is great.
    • Good Optimization.

    The Bad

    • Not a wide range of Gameplay options.
    • Managing the squad options should have been much better with more various options.
    • Doesn't have too much lasting appeal after finishing it once, even with multiple endings.
    • Not a good soundtrack.

You might notice some funny ads throughout Dubai.

    The Verdict

Spec Ops: The Line is a pretty good game. Its very surprising why 2K didn't advertise the game more. At the end, the game is a typical third person shooter, but for the story aspect, this game deserves to get a try.

Just bought the came, closest thing to Gears of War I've played in a long time. Gun sounds could use some work though, they lack the punch.

Well GOW had the guns to support to as well. A grenade launcher doesn't have a huge radius + ammo is limited, after I long time I ran out of ammo when playing. And the AI seems pretty good too, both on the enemy and teammate's part. They actively seek cover and fight, felt refreshing to see that they were shooting and suppressing an enemy and he shouted "I'm pinned, I can't move", hinting that I should rush up and kill him.

You mean its only 6 hours? I don't count hours as I do play games in multiple sittings. But I do check the games which mentioned the hours played in stat. This game had 12/13 missions. 6/7 hours in medium difficulty could possible.

Obviously everyone plays in multiple sessions lol. Just a general sense of time, 6 hours means short, 2-4 hours very short etc.

It took about 6 hours at a stretch indeed. Dubai will never be the same to me ever again, and neither will be sandstorms. I found the soundtracks pretty good as well. So many familiar artists in it: Bjork, Mogwai, Deep Purple, Jimi Hendrix, Inner Circle. Definitely one of the better games I've played recently.

      9/10 from me.

Mindfudge is the word indeed. I think I stared at the screen for fifteen minutes flat unsure of what to do with my life now that I have seen what I have seen. Have you tried the alternate endings though? I think there are about four.

I just played the epilogue in the two different ways. Don't know about the other two, which choice makes the difference?

Epilogue has three, one before the epilogue.
      From Wiki:
      Spec Ops: The Line endings:

      • If Walker manages to kill the entire patrol, he will radio U.S. command and welcome them to Dubai over the now clear airwaves. Walker then heads back into the remains of Dubai as the camera pans to a wide shot of the ruined city.
      • If Walker dies in the fight, he will be shown lying in a pool of blood, remembering a conversation between himself and Konrad during the war, before the fighting in Kabul worsened. As his dying body is being watched by the patrol, Walker remembers casually remarking about returning home. Konrad had replied that there was no way men like them could, stating "We can't go home. There's a line men like us have to cross. If we're lucky, we do what's necessary, and then we die."
      • If Walker drops his weapon, he then evacuates with the patrol. A soldier remarks that the unit has driven through the entire city looking for Walker, often coming across the results of the player's actions. When questioned about how he survived, Walker replies, "Who said I did?"

But none of the endings are actual. The real story actually ends much before this. Spec Ops: The Line dev explains the real deal on IGN:
