Well the finewine had quite opposite effect on fury series. Most probably due to their 1st generation hbm 4gb vram. . Whereas 980ti aged prertty damn good. It still hangs around gtx 1070 level @stock!!! Where as a @1500ghz oc on the core with good vram oc it can touch gtx1080/rtx2060 pretty easily i guess.

8600k is still heavy enough to do all the things you want for 3 more years and the way games are getting developed even it is still fine to run on quad cores i really don't think you need your cpu upgrade
